The next step
PHTA offers a unique rolling entry programme which allows students to start the course at different times of the year. This allows PHTA students greater flexibility. The PHTA course structure is modular, that is to say, subjects are taught either in “blocks”, or as single, stand - alone topics. This means that students are able to start their training on five different months of each year.
In the first year training takes place on the first Saturday of the month, and in the second year on the second Saturday of the month. If, for example, a student were to begin training in March they would stay in the first year until the following February and then move up to the second year. This system also allows students who may have missed a class in the first year to re-take that class in year 2.
Rather than teach over a whole weekend, PHTA trains on Saturdays. This allows our students time to absorb the wide variety of topics that we teach. There are 30 full days of training on our course.
If you apply to join us you will be invited to spend a morning in class with us before making a decision. An informal interview takes place during the morning. This normally takes place on the first Saturday of each month at Regent’s College.
